How I teach
No two students learn the same way, so lessons aren’t run from a fixed script. I pay close attention to where you’re getting stuck, what motivates you, and how you respond best — then adjust as we go, rather than pushing through a set curriculum regardless of fit.
That means catching a grammar issue the moment it comes up instead of waiting for the “right” lesson to cover it, and knowing when you need a push versus when you need encouragement to keep going. After years of doing this, spotting what a specific person actually needs — not just what the textbook says comes next — is second nature.

Hi, I’m Berend. I’ve been teaching NT2 for over eight years, working with international professionals and expat partners across the Netherlands.
Everyone comes in with a different background, pace, and starting point — which is why lessons are built around you, not a fixed course structure. My role is to bring calm and structure to the process, so you always know where you stand and what’s realistic for your goals.
